Beyond Guinness: 5 St. Patrick’s Day Drinks for Your Inner Leprechaun

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated enthusiastically by Canadians, many of whom have Irish roots. Whether you’re having a St. Patrick’s Day party or quenching the thirst of your inner leprechaun, these drink recipes will help you celebrate.

5 St. Patrick’s Day Drink Recipes

Irish Coffee

1 tsp heavy cream
1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
1 tsp sugar
3 oz hot coffee

Pour coffee into mug, add sugar and stir. Add whiskey. Whip cream and pour slowly over the back of a spoon over coffee.

Green Manhattan

Dash of Orange Bitters
2 oz of Irish Whiskey
1 oz Italian Vermouth
Crushed ice

Stir ice & ingredients together. Strain into martini glass.

Green Beer

Add 2 drops green food colouring to any lager.

Martini a la Mint

1/3 oz dry Vermouth
3/4 oz Vodka
1/3 ounce of Crème de Menthe

Pour ingredients over ice & shake. Strain into a martini glass.

Tropical Irish Holiday

5 peeled kiwis
1/4 cup light rum
8 oz can undrained crushed pineapple
1/4 cup melon liqueur
3 TBSP cream of coconut
3 cups crushed ice

Blend 4 kiwis. Add other ingredients + ice and blend again. Strain through a sieve. Garnish with remaining kiwi. Makes 6 glasses.

Irish Appletini

1 oz Sour Apple Schnapps
2 oz Irish Whiskey
2 oz white cranberry juice

Shake for 30 seconds in cocktail shaker and strain into martini glass.
