Have you noticed how truly terrible televisions sound today? It’s a conspiracy! They want you to invest in a soundbar. The good news is you’ll be glad you did, because it transforms home entertainment into an immersive experience.
The Samsung Soundbar and Sub-woofer was given to me as a Mother’s Day gift. Since I don’t like to have TV shows or movies exceptionally loud, I knew the 200W model would suffice. I was pleasantly surprised to learn you don’t have to spend a fortune to have amazing sound. I expected it to be an improvement, not blow me away. But blow me away it did.
The volume can easily go twice as high as I like it without losing sound quality. In fact, it sounds even better if I crank it up. My favourite sound setting is “Cinema”. I noticed the movie theatre effect the instant I turned it on, and I can honestly say the first word out of my mouth was “WOW!” The soundbar and sub-woofer work in perfect stereo harmony, providing an immersive experience with everything you watch.
From TV shows (in “cinema” mode) to webinars (in “sports” mode), all of my entertainment and business viewing has been vastly enhanced by the Samsung Soundbar and Sub-woofer. Naturally, the most notable improvement has been with movies. The night before we went to see Guardians of the Galaxy, we watched Vol. 1 again at home. The movie revolves around music from the 70’s, and those tunes with the rich base from the sub-woofer had me couch dancing throughout. This soundbar came through with a cinema experience, treating us to thundering explosions and crisp details of even the smallest sound.
This superior sound system doesn’t stop with TV shows and movies. Let the music take you away by switching to “music” mode and using your Bluetooth-enabled devices for wireless audio streaming from smartphones, tablets, and computers. Gamers will be astounded as they’re drawn further into their favourite game worlds.
Setting up this soundbar and woofer was “plug & play” simple, even though my TV isn’t a Samsung. We did have to go back out and buy a 3.5mm audio cable because it only came with an optical cable. BestBuy, I would have appreciated being informed about that requirement at the point of purchase.
The all-black soundbar is slim and sleek, easily fitting below our TV. It would look nice on a wall as well, especially if you can take advantage of the wireless Samsung TV option. The sub-woofer is wired, but an obvious effort was made to make it as invisible as possible. It’s on the short side, but I placed it on one of our tower speakers beside the TV so little length was required in my case. The sub-woofer is compact and attractive in black wood.

If you’re looking for a compact, dynamic home theatre experience for under $200, I don’t hesitate to recommend the Samsung HW Soundbar and Sub-woofer. I only wish I had a compatible Samsung TV to take full advantage of the wireless setup, instead of adding to my tangle of cords.
How much did I love it? Well, I bought one more for the bedroom TV and another one as a birthday gift for my Son. I think that says it all.

All of my entertainment system is Samsung and I’ve never regretted it! It’sll be time to replace my soundbar next year and it will be a samsung again. 🙂
I think this one is being replaced with a newer model have you tried the new one? Any thoughts on the samsung tv? I’d rather buy both the tv and soundbar together but I’m having a hella time deciding which model to get. Obviously this is your true opinion and I’d appreciate your thoughts if you’ve tried others OK? Merci!

I got one for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. The problem is so do I and now I want to watch his den tv all the time LOL. Maybe I’ll get one for Christmas this year if I’m a big enough pain. 😉 😉
